Winterization/Dewinterization

Winterizing a camper involves preparing it for cold weather to prevent damage from freezing temperatures.
This typically includes draining the water system, adding antifreeze, and protecting the exterior.

Draining the water system is crucial because any remaining water can freeze and expand, potentially causing pipes and tanks to crack. Adding antifreeze helps protect the plumbing system by lowering the freezing point of any residual water. Additionally, inspecting seals, covering vents, and ensuring the camper is clean and dry can prevent mold and damage.

Overall, winterizing helps preserve your camper’s functionality and longevity, saving you from costly repairs and ensuring it’s ready for use when the weather warms up.

Rodent Proofing

Rodent proofing a camper is essential to prevent damage and health risks. Rodents can cause significant harm by gnawing on electrical wires, insulation, and other materials, potentially leading to electrical fires or costly repairs. They also carry diseases and can create unsanitary conditions by leaving droppings and urine.

Roof/Slide-out Seal Repair

Repairing camper seals is crucial for maintaining the integrity and functionality of your camper. Seals, often found around windows, doors, and roof vents, prevent water from leaking into the camper. When these seals become worn, cracked, or damaged, they can allow water to infiltrate, leading to issues like:

  1. Water Damage: Persistent leaks can cause damage to the interior, including mold growth, wood rot, and deterioration of furnishings and flooring.

  2. Insulation Loss: Proper seals help maintain the camper’s insulation, keeping it more energy-efficient and comfortable. Damaged seals can lead to heat loss in winter or excessive heat gain in summer, impacting comfort and increasing energy costs.

  3. Structural Damage: Long-term exposure to moisture can weaken the camper’s structural elements, potentially leading to more extensive and expensive repairs.

  4. Pest Intrusion: Cracked or missing seals can also provide entry points for pests like insects and rodents, leading to additional issues.

More about RB and his passion for RVs

Ryan Buehlman, at your service.

I am the owner and service technician of RB’s Mobile RV Repair. I come with roughly 20 years of auto/diesel mechanic experience, followed by about 5 years of experience in the RV world right here in West Michigan.

In my years of experience, I have learned many things, two being the most important:

One: Customers are not numbers. I will not treat you like a dealership would. I will listen to your issues or concerns and address them with knowledge and respect. My goal is not to collect a customer’s money; my goal is to provide service to my customers.

Two: I have found there is unlimited value in being able to travel to my customers, instead of my customer having to travel to me. My lack of overhead transfers to affordable services for my customers.

So, along with my wife and our five children, we started RB’s Mobile RV Repair.

I look forward to connecting with you if you are ever in need of services.
